Lockdown brought out the creative side of many people up and down the country, especially those who missed their local pub or drinking establishment. At Freelance Entry Solutions, we have been lucky enough to see some of these lockdown projects first hand and have helped clients secure their outside bar spaces with shutters and sliding grilles.

Brief

We were invited to complete a small roller shutter project for a customer who had built a lovely stylish bar in his garden. Plumm's Place is fully equipped with a fully stocked fridge and optics! The customer requested that we come up with a solution to close off the bar from any weather ingress, animals or unwanted guests.

High security was not really something at the top of the agenda, meaning this project was more about finding and fitting a stylish product to complete the look of the bar.

Solution

For the customer’s garden bar, we opted for the lightweight SeceuroShield 1500 from SWS UK, a product that offers strong but attractive security suitable for residential properties. With pubs closing early, we have seen an uplift in enquiries from those looking to secure garden bars that have been built at home, not something anybody really anticipated at the start of 2020!

The chosen security shutter was an aluminium roller shutter with foam core and the standard coloured anthracite grey complemented the overall look perfectly. Both shutters on this garden bar are electrically operated and we installed separate switching for independent control.

If you have created a stylish shed space, a perfect little pub or garden bar and want security shutters installed, get in touch or come and visit our Salisbury showroom to discuss your requirements.
