We supplied and fitted three overlap garage doors at a property in Ringwood, to protect the homeowners' cars from the elements and to boost security at the property.
Brief
Part of this large renovation project was an old triple bay barn garage that would require 3x garage doors. The plan was to retain the features and character of the original building, which included the old timber beams and open vaulted ceiling. This was to be home for three of the customers' cars, so it was essential the garage doors provide excellent security, insulation, and seal to prevent general weather and debris from blowing in.
Solution
We proposed the overlap garage door knowing how the counterweight mechanism and motor are integrated into the frame. This eliminated the need for any unsightly tracking suspended from the ceiling, ensuring the high-quality interior finish of this garage would not be compromised. The 45mm fully insulated panels seal closed on all four sides meeting all of the customers' requirements, and the simple design worked extremely well against the old building.
We are pleased the customer trusted and agreed to the concept because the doors sit perfectly within an incredible restoration project. Kudos to Phil and his team at PWH Building who completed the renovation works.
