Anything that makes life a little easier is surely a good thing, and this was the case for a couple in Wylye, Wiltshire. We completed an automated sectional garage door project for them, to make accessing the garage much easier.
Brief
Mr Jordan contacted us for some garage door advice and options to make life easier for his parents. The original manual up and over garage doors was becoming difficult to use, and with his parents continuously in and out of the garage, he felt it would soon become a problem with the risk of injury. Like many double garages with two narrow garage doors, it was also a challenge to park a vehicle inside without risking damage.
Due to Mr Jordan’s work commitments outside of the country, he was also keen to ensure the garage door company his parents selected for the project were reputable and would be on hand to assist should a problem ever occur.
Solution
The customer decided on the solution which ticked all of the boxes - for us to remove the central pillar and install one single steel beam. This created a single large opening with ample clearance for the car to be parked centrally in the garage without risk of damage and provided plenty of room to get in and out of the car from both sides. Being so large, the new electric sectional garage door was fully remote automated for ease.
The final feature of this sectional garage door project was the addition of a pedestrian wicket door, located slightly offset as to not conflict with the vehicle parked centrally and closest to the side door into the house.
