This was an exciting garage door project in Burley in the New Forest, where the customer required bespoke wooden garage doors to compliment a beautiful timber building nestled in the trees. This project really highlighted our ability to work to specific client requirements and come up with a stunning solution.

Brief

The architect had designed this beautiful timber building for which 3x solid timber garage doors with a very specific design would be needed. Hardwood was preferred for longevity, and the stain finish had to compliment the oak timber building.  The client would be using the garage for vehicles so all the doors should maximise width and be fully automated for convenience.

Solution

This was going to need a manufacturer who could work with us to achieve the desired design and finish, and we knew just the one - Woodrite Doors.

After a lot of planning the impressive bespoke hand-built Idigbo garage doors arrived.  We opted for galvanised and powder-coated steel frames for strength, security, and because they are easily adjusted should the timber building settle or move slightly. Finally, the garage doors were remote automated using the Hörmann Supramatic motor system and linked with the electric gates so that from one remote, the client is able to operate the gates and each of the garage doors independently. The automation also allowed us to specify the doors without handles for greater security and a neat finish.
