We helped a couple in Whiteparish, Salisbury find a secure aluminium front door and matching sectional garage door - proof that a blend of traditional and modern can work!

Brief

Mr and Mrs Newton were in the process of updating their bungalow and having recently replaced the windows, fascia’s, and guttering, it was time for a new aluminium front door and matching garage door. The couple were open to ideas regarding design, but keen to continue with the grey theme and to ensure that the garage and front door remained matching.

Solution

Looking to make a little more a feature of the doors, the durable foil ‘Titan CH703’ colour finish with its slight matt metallic appearance was chosen over the flat anthracite grey used on the rest of the house.

It would have been easy to play it safe, but this steel/aluminium front door with a glazed side element is proof that you can blend traditional with modern. The security, reliability and thermal values of the Hormann front door also played a significant part in the decision process.

The smooth 4-panel design of the sectional garage door gave the desired simple modern feel and made for easy cleaning. By replacing the original timber garage door frame from between the opening with the new steel sectional door frame to fit completely behind the opening, the customer gained an additional 150mm of drive through clearance.
