After living with a draughty front door for years, Mr and Mrs Williams thought it was time for an upgrade and contacted us to find a modern entry door to fit their vision.
Brief
Mr and Mrs Williams came to us looking to replace their existing draughty front entrance door with a more modern looking aluminium door with all the benefits of stability, security, thermal efficiency and low maintenance. The existing door comprised of a relatively narrow door alongside a wide glazed side element so one of the first requirement being the new door should be more balanced with a wider door leaf and narrower glazed side element.
Unsure of exactly what design and spec they preferred we suggested a visit to our showroom where various working door examples could be seen in person the and finer details and options could be discussed.
Solution
A visit to our showroom and Mr and Mrs Williams minds were quickly made up having seen the quality and detail of the fully aluminium RK Pivot front entrance door we have on display. Selecting the 1350mm wide pivot door with 1 triple glazed side element which was to have the house name etched into the glazing and with the addition of built in LED lights would be illuminated at dusk.
The door also had a built-in alarm contact to avoid having the unsightly alarm cable and contact mounted onto the face of the door leaf afterwards.
Opting for a grey matt fine structure powder-coat finish externally and a white internal finish to maintain a bright look and feel in the hallway.
As for the installation, being a triple glazed one-piece frame system it was quite the physical challenge but went exactly as planned. An unavoidable gap above the opening was easily overcome with the matching aluminium flashing that blended seamlessly.
